A picnic on the edge of night, a temporary encampment for nocturnal tales. Blending research on the act of walking and nomadism with the theme of lightly inhabiting public space, DOM- invites the audience to a collective exercise of rest and suspension in this outdoor work.

When night falls, clocks stop, perception expands, and the landscape emits indecipherable messages—languid like the heat rising from the ground as humidity descends from the sky and tree trunks. Muslin garments drape over grass and dark rocks; someone wanders off. “Nature” then reveals its full seductive power, calling bodies to itself, inviting them to pause and lose themselves, emitting an irresistible urge to go further—to cross the threshold between dream and wakefulness. A cry at the edge of an experience from which there is no return—or if you do return, you lack the words to describe it.

(The performance includes a 15 minute outdoor walk.)

Bio 

DOM- is a research project founded in 2013 by artists Leonardo Delogu and Valerio Sirna. It investigates the language of performance arts, infusing it with the militant approach of Environmental Humanities and the visions of feminist and queer ecologies. Their work revolves around the relationship between bodies and territories, probing permeability and observing how power, nature, culture, and marginality interact in public space.

In 2019, DOM- won the Rete Critica Award for L’uomo che cammina/La città che cammina. In 2020–2021, their project Radio India (created with the Oceano Indiano collective during a residency at Teatro di Roma) received the Special Ubu Award. For Radio India, DOM- produced the broadcasts Nausicaä: Vivere tra le rovine and Licantropia.
