h.6:00 PM and 8:00 PM - Arena Francesca da Rimini

Public presentation of the theatrical workshop for the 2024/2025 school year
This year’s collaboration with Liceo Classico Giulio Cesare in Rimini has been a journey through the words and stories of the women of Troy at war’s end.
Euripides captures this tragic moment—the grief of Hecuba, Andromache, Cassandra, and others as they await and resign themselves to their fates. Nothing happens; everything revolves around their agonized laments, their powerlessness and frustration.
This pain takes shape as choral theater, where voices, songs, and laments themselves become the text’s action: an outcry against war’s atrocities, echoing the chasm between a joyful past, sorrowful present, and thankless future. This collective spirit guided the students’ work.
On stage: texts by Euripides, Sartre, Barker, Wolf, Gualtieri, and original writings by the students; the body (trained through rigorous practice); and songs by 35 teenagers (ages 14–19), directed by Francesco Montanari and Francesca Morello (R.Y.F.), with special contributions from Daniela Nicolò and Enrico Casagrande / Motus.
Bio
Compagnia Arte da Parte was born more than 30 years ago within the Liceo Classico G. Cesare in Rimini, to offer young students a path in the performing arts. It has been followed by several experts in the field, with a particular focus on classical texts, used as a source of reflection on daily life. The goal is to talk about them, discuss them together; form a young audience, and, why not, discover one’s own abilities and spark the desire in some to pursue an artistic career.
