A free ballet class open to everyone who wants to be involved in a collective act of self-care and reappropriation of public space.
Le Classic c’est chic! was created with the aim of decolonising the imagery surrounding the academic technique of ballet, with the desire to offer as many people as possible the tools to understand and reappropriate their bodies.

Information for the workshop:

No previous experience is required.
Wear an outfit you feel comfortable moving in. Wear your most comfortable shoes, keeping in mind we will be on concrete.
We will be outdoors so there will not be a changing room.

Bio

Anna Basti is a dancer, performer and independent researcher with a background in ballet and contemporary dance. Her research focuses on the body, a complex and porous organism shaped by the context in which it lives. This research is structured across several project platforms using different formats, mainly directed towards work and the sharing of knowledge with bodies that are unfamiliar with movement techniques.
She is currently co-curating the Marosi Festival, which takes place on Stromboli Island, and developing the projects Le classique c’est chic! and Indagine sullo stato dei corpi. Her projects have been hosted by several festivals and venues, including Lavanderia a Vapore (Turin), RicercaX (Turin), Festival Fuori Programma (Rome) and Festival intersezioni (Rome).
