A participatory project that unites choreography, installation, sound, and writing. The idea of magic – as a symbolic tool for emancipation from the system – nourishes the work, whose output is an immersive device that grafts itself into pauses and darkness, bringing out the invisible and playing with the unexpected. An investigation into subversive imagination and the choreography of chance, using the loop to venture into a journey that reveals itself in the increasingly familiar and dystopian repetition. An invitation to imagine beyond, to let futures flow from sidereal darkness. A collective exercise in soft psychedelia and re-enchantment to bring out the fluid and mutant potential of existence.

Bio

Michela Depetris is a multidisciplinary artist, performer, and choreographer. She trained between Italy and Spain in visual arts and contemporary dance. She works with hybrid languages between dance, performance, writing, sound, and installation, situating her research in an open and mixed field where every medium always leads back to the body, with a vision of expanded choreography contaminated by feminist and queer ecologies. She is the author of WOW WIDE WEB(2024), a performance created with the support of Residenze Coreografiche Piemonte dal Vivo at Lavanderia a Vapore, Base (Mi), SPAM Centro per le arti contemporanee (Lu), L’Estruch Fàbrica de Creació de les Arts en Viu (Sabadell, ESP). In the name of darkness, magic and vulnerability is her latest stage project.
