The performing arts program—curated by Daniela Nicolò and Enrico Casagrande (Motus) together with Paola Granato—will inhabit Rimini in an even more expanded and rhizomatic form, starting from the image of the mangrove, drawn from the film by Invernomuto and Low Jack that will open this edition.
The tangle of underwater roots that binds together the vegetal, animal, and human worlds—like the weave of a fabric—more and more evokes the need for transformation (and overturning) that these times of genocidal wars demand.
As usual, the Teatro Galli will host many shows and performances; this edition will also involve new independent spaces in Rimini’s historic center, connected by short walking routes, amplifying the idea of a gentle occupation of the city that Supernova has practiced since its very first edition.
The eye of Supernova’s first explosion becomes an animal eye—that of a reptile—capable of seeing by day, by night, and underwater, adapting to multiple environments: it observes motionless, camouflaged among the vegetation, yet is ready to leap (to defend or attack?) at any moment. An image that once again suggests adopting perspectives that diverge from dominant narratives, drawing inspiration from worlds that evoke alternative directions—an invitation to be transformed by the survival strategies of the complex creatures that will populate Supernova this year.
