“irl” is the term the network uses to indicate what escapes it: the encounter. When the limiting weight of the digital body becomes evident, it flows onto the physical world, responding to the demand for a space-environment not reduced by its structure. It is not about rejecting the digital, but reflecting on the possibilities of circumventing its limits.

In this migration (network → irl), we individuals grasp a present conscious of being such, where drifting becomes a tool for exploration and openness to the unpredictable. Exploring then means confronting the crisis of digital identity: every profile, based on a prefabricated model, constitutes an obstacle in itself. The result is a doubly inauthentic individuality: as an individuality closed in on itself and as mediated by the order imposed by social networks. The user and the associated profile share no relationship of belonging.

“irl” thus takes on a denser meaning: not simple exterior, but difference in intensity. “irl moments” incorporates the aesthetic essence of the event, which appears enhanced by capturing the digital moment which, by withdrawing, increases awareness of what exceeds its form. The event is no longer a frame, but is given as a moment in which works and relationships intertwine in the emergence of the instant.
