Supernova special

A choreographic project in which the stage becomes a hospitable space, closer to an environment than a representation device. Choreography is situated on this threshold, where forms show themselves in becoming and experience surpasses the individual perspective. Within this condition resonates the image evoked by John Milton of a “wilderness of sweets”: a fertile density, full of possibilities and unexpected accumulations, where excess and proliferation become a generative engine. Within this field, dance manifests itself as a gesture of intimacy in public space: a movement that leaves the body exposed, languidly projected into space according to a logic close to the dream, where incongruous elements coexist and influence each other. The spectator is invited to progressively enter a shared field of attention where perception, thought, and grace remain open — letting oneself be watched, letting oneself be seen, letting oneself be lived — suspending the need for utility and restoring to movement its character of unproductive and shared pleasure.

Bio

Cristina Kristal Rizzo is a choreographer, performer, and researcher, active on the Live Arts scene since the early 1990s. She is one of the founders of the historic collective Kinkaleri, with which she actively collaborated, traversing the international performance scene and receiving numerous accolades. Since 2008, she has undertaken an independent path of choreographic production, directing her research towards a theoretical reflection with a strong dynamic impact, aimed at regenerating the act of creation and opening reflections on the present time, establishing herself as one of the leading figures in Italian choreography. Alongside the circulation of her performances, she carries out intense activity of experimental proposals, conferences, workshops, advanced training, mentoring, and theoretical writing.
