A workshop investigating the poetic and unsettling possibilities of the internet. The starting point is a gesture of observation: reading, editing, and reactivating comments left by users under YouTube music videos to compose an open dramaturgy, a collective montage of an anthology through listening and cinematic observation of online archives. A gesture of emotional archaeology that transforms the platform’s comment section into a dramaturgical territory, where anonymous fragments compose a dissolved identity, an “internet monster” made of shared memories and phantom relationships. The workshop gives rise to a performative moment open to the public which, through the work done on the community’s memories, investigates the ambivalence between the public and private spheres in the digital world and the innate need to feel empathy.
