Moving along the mangrove ecosystems of the marshy landscapes of Martinique, a dancer repeatedly performs a movement: a fall of the body from the top of the head, the highest point of the skull. Through this extreme gesture, she seems to enter into dialogue with the surrounding elements. In these humid territories, the erosion of wood evokes sensations and the passage of time. The dancer is portrayed by actress and choreographer Rayna, a prominent figure in the dancehall movement of the French Antilles. These fantastic landscapes are accompanied by soundscapes recorded on site, including celebrating crowds, bird murmurs, and the flow of water.
A stream of consciousness, entrusted to the voices of singers and musicians Bamao Yendé and Le Diouck, moves between a loving refrain and the narration of a “speedrun” performance. Attempting to establish an impossible dialogue, the story calls out to a lost loved one.
How to face loss in the face of the infinitude of time? A ritual develops between the extreme pursuit of performance at the frenetic pace of gaming and repeated falls, similar to the failures inherent in the grieving process. In a natural landscape that oscillates between documentary and abstract form, reality and play deform in attempts to challenge time and gravity. Manipulating reality, using anomalies, and testing limits become escape strategies.

Bio

Invernomuto is the name by which Simone Bertuzzi (Piacenza, 1983) and Simone Trabucchi (Piacenza, 1982) have been collaborating since 2003. Based in Milan, Invernomuto creates research projects that unfold over time and space, giving rise to cycles of interconnected works. Starting from a shared theoretical foundation, Invernomuto tends to think in an open and rhizomatic way, developing diverse outputs that take the form of moving images, sounds, performative actions, and editorial projects, within a practice defined by the use of different media—both diffuse and precise. Recent exhibitions include ECHOES, Haus der Kunst, Munich (2026); TUTTAUNANOTTE, eflux, New York; Fondazione Prada, Milan; GAMeC, Bergamo (2025).

Philippe Hallais, known as Low Jack, born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, is a French multidisciplinary artist based in Paris. Author of seven albums, he also co-directed Éditions Gravats from 2014 to 2021. His artistic practice plays with the use of sonic clichés and media folklore, and is inspired by the multiplicity of musical languages associated with underground subcultures. It expresses itself through a vast formal field, ranging from musical composition to performance, to the staging of live shows. His unique sound fuses dancehall and sound art, giving life to dub and futuristic mutations of Caribbean sound.
