IO VOMITO YUAN originates from Yuan’s book of the same title, written as her Master’s thesis. Moving between narrative writing and critical reflection, the text traverses politics, science fiction, philosophy, and gender issues through a fragmented, visionary language that resists categorization.

The performance transforms this writing into voice and body, exploring the condition of the contemporary artist and the experience of living and creating in a foreign country, where identity, belonging, and language are constantly being redefined.

Suspended between confession, invective, and imagination, IO VOMITO YUAN reflects on the contradictions of the art system and its institutions, questioning the mechanisms through which visibility, exclusion, and power are produced.
